The bulk of my coaching services focus around high-conflict family situations, whether contested child custody, parental alienation, or Child Welfare involvement. I am a dedicated family rights advocate and well versed in the laws, policies and procedures that impact parental custody. You'll find that I am a strong team member that will wrap your legal strategy into coaching to help prove your client is a fit, healthy, safe and loving parent. Please feel free to visit our parent site at IronwoodCoaching.com to learn more.
I got into child custody coaching after spending years as a legal assistant and DV advocate. I got tired of feeling heartbroken and angry at the family courts outcomes, and saw the need for intensive legal support services for these struggling parents. At Ironwood Coaching you and your client will receive evidence based, tailored, confidential, and experienced advocacy to address case allegations and document their progress.
Frequently attorneys share that one of the most difficult aspects of high-conflict family law is managing the clients needs and expectations. Due to the heightened emotions clients often need a higher level of support than attorneys can realistically provide, and the end result is dissatisfied, struggling clients. As a result of poorly regulated, demanding, and dissatisfied clients attorneys may deal with frequent complaints or a high rate of client churn.
Do your clients struggle to complete their case plan? Is their demeanor combative or otherwise unhelpful? Are they anxious, depressed, or just spinning in circles accomplishing very little? Qualified coaching can help. Unlike therapy, which many clients feel is aversive, coaching isn't about diagnosing mental health issues or processing their complex histories. Instead coaching focuses on using evidence based models to achieve results on a fixed timetable and building their skills sets to address parenting related concerns. It isn't surprising that when they begin making progress they also begin to feel better.
My case planning hinges on developing specific client goals to address agency/court concerns, in a time sensitive manner. Coaching breaks apart the big goal into small weekly steps, and provides the client with support, troubleshooting and accountability each week. I am always happy to collaborate with involved professionals to best address the clients needs; whether social workers, family court services, mental health providers. Documented coaching progress is provided weekly with progress notes, comprehensive monthly reports, and monthly certificates of coaching compliance. When possible, I am willing to attend case meetings and testify on behalf of my clients.
How good is our advocacy, here is a recent Initiation of Services Report.
